Bob’s, which specializes in the repair of appliance parts, has had a rough few years.
The owner of the shop, who wished to remain anonymous, said he was laid off last summer after working at a construction company for five years.
( Bob’s had its own troubles as well, with a fire in 2008 that destroyed two stores and forced the closure of the company’s two main stores.)
Bob’s said it is now a small operation, but that it is still in need of new parts and equipment.
(In an email, a spokesperson said that Bob’s is “a full-time operation” and that the shop has hired a full-timer for its new operations.)
When Bob’s closed its doors, the owner said, it was closing down shop and selling its inventory online.
He has since moved to another job and has since been unable to find work, he said.
He said he is not certain if he will be able to reopen his business any time soon.
But he has been looking for work in the meantime.
“The last couple of months have been tough, but I am thankful for my hard work and the support of my family,” he said in an email.
“I am happy to see that we are able to rebuild our business and get back to our roots.”
Bob’s has operated in a location in Vancouver since 2011, when it opened its first shop in South Vancouver.
A decade later, the shop reopened in downtown Vancouver in 2017.
In an interview with the CBC in 2016, the owners said they had been unable for some time to find qualified staff to do the work.
The shop was a popular destination for backpackers who visit the city.
The owners said it was one of the only businesses in the area that offered free, no-questions-asked tours of the city, and the tours were a huge hit.
The business was also one of only a few in Vancouver to offer an outdoor seating area.
The city also has a history of gentrification in the city’s downtown.
A few years ago, a large condo project was proposed, with the city saying it would create 250 new jobs in downtown.
The project was ultimately rejected by the city and the developers had to relocate the project to an adjacent parcel.
But the condo project has since gone through, with new construction on its site.
Bob’s owner said he wanted to make the move so he could return to the downtown, where he once had a job as a receptionist.
“It’s not the same business anymore, but it’s a nice change of scenery,” he told CBC News in an interview.
“A little bit of change.
A little bit.”
He said that the job search is not over.
“We’re trying to find someone to replace me and get me back to my old life.
It’s going to take a while to get back, but we’re trying,” he added.
He also said he has not heard back from the city about any work being done to renovate the building.
“They’ve just been very unresponsive to any kind of inquiries,” he wrote.
The news comes just days after a similar news story broke in Toronto.
In March, the Globe and Mail reported that a business called Bob’s Bags and Bags had closed its Vancouver location.
Bobs, which was based in Vancouver, had previously been in operation in South Etobicoke for about six years.
Bob and his partner, Tony Sargent, started Bob’s in 2008.
The company had a number of locations in Toronto, including a restaurant and several retail outlets.
The stores closed in 2015.
“There are no plans to reopen,” a spokesperson for Bob’s told the Globe.
“All current employees have been laid off and the business is operating at a loss.”
Sargents family told the Toronto Star that the closure was unexpected.
“Bob’s has been our family business for 25 years,” Sargets father-in-law said in a statement.
“Many people have loved and supported us as we’ve grown our business, and we’re grateful for all the support and goodwill from friends and family.”
Bobs also operates a small store in Calgary and an outlet in Winnipeg.
“For the last year, our focus has been on making sure we’re continuing to provide a great experience for customers, employees, and friends,” the spokesperson told the Star.
Bob has been the owner of Bob’s for more than 20 years, and his business has been based in South Van for about seven years.
He is currently working to open a new location in Toronto in 2018.
“Our new Toronto location will allow us to keep our focus on what we do best, which is serving the people of South Van and supporting our local economy,” the company said in its news release.
The Globe reported that Bobs is seeking to raise about $5 million to reopen its downtown location.
